Can you run my Mexican company and my Houston company in one system?
Yes, and it’s the case we work on most. One instance with two companies, automatic inter-company transactions, two currencies and the document each country requires: a stamped CFDI in Mexico, an invoice with sales tax in the United States. What we don’t do is force it when it doesn’t apply: if you only operate on one side, a binational system adds complexity you won’t use.
Do you have an office in Houston?
No. The US entity is in Laredo, Texas, and engineering is in Monterrey and Guadalajara, on Central Time. We’d rather say it before you ask: if your criterion is having the vendor twenty minutes away, there are Houston firms that meet it and we don’t.
Does Odoo work for an import/export company?
It covers purchasing, inventory, sales and the Mexican tax side, and on top of that we build what your operation requires: allocating freight and duties into cost, reconciliation between the two entities and traceability of what crosses. If your operation is simple and on one side, a standard ERP without development is probably enough, and we’ll tell you that too.
